Larry Keeter Updates Max Weber's Trip to Mt. Airy, North Carolina
The May 1995 issue of Sociation, provided here in .pdf format, announces
the project headed by Larry Keeter at Appalachian State University on Max
Weber's trip to the United States. Professor Keeter in the May 1995
issue describes the development of the video project. Relatives of
Max Weber, who were alive when Weber visted Mt. Airy, are interviewed on
a reel-to-reel video tape machine in 1975. This video material along
with other materials is announced, but at the time was not generally available.
In the Spring of 2006 the project was rereleased on DVD and VHS, and was
sent to many sociology departments in North Carolina.
In light of the new work, the May 1995 issue of Sociation is
being posted for the first time, since issues that far back have not been
available on the WWW. People interested in a copy of the project
can still contact Larry Keeter through the Department of Sociology at Appalachian
State University, where Professor Keeter is now Emeritus Professor of Sociology.
